Millie Adan has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Millie started their career in 1999 at UPS, where they worked as a Workforce Planning Supervisor for nine years. In 2008, they transitioned to SOS Children's Villages Illinois, assuming the role of Chief Human Resources Officer until 2014. Millie then joined Healthcare Alternative Systems, Inc. (H.A.S.) in 2015, initially serving as the Vice President of Human Resources & Corporate Compliance Officer. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Operating Officer & Corporate Compliance Officer at H.A.S., a role they have been serving since 2021.
Millie Adan obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, General from St. Xavier University in 2000. Millie then pursued a Master's Degree in Human Resources and Development from National Louis University, which was completed in 2003. Later, in 2007, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a concentration in Business Administration and Management, General, also from National Louis University.
In terms of additional certifications, Millie Adan became certified in Nonprofit Management through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance in November 2019. Millie also obtained the Strategic HR Business Partner (sHRBP) certification in 2018, and the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification in June 2016, offered by SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management).

In 1974, Healthcare Alternative Systems (H.A.S.) began as a response to the health disparities among Chicago's Hispanic community. After more than 40 years of service, H.A.S. has firmly established itself as a leading provider of mental health and substance use treatment services for under-served communities throughout Cook and DuPage counties. We remain proudly committed to providing a continuum of multicultural and bilingual (English/Spanish) social services that empower individuals, families, and communities. Each year H.A.S. provides approximately 4,000 individuals the supports needed to live a self-directed, dignified life. Our programs include: outpatient and intensive outpatient substance use treatment, medication assisted treatment, residential and transitional housing support, and domestic violence support and prevention services. Additionally, we are one of the only providers in the state to offer Spanish-language services to women experiencing postpartum depression. ----- En 1974, Healthcare Alternative Systems (H.A.S.) comenzó como una respuesta directa a las desigualdades de salud entre la comunidad hispana de Chicago. Nosotros nos comprometemos en brindarle una variedad de servicios multiculturales y bilingües (inglés/español) de la salud conductual y servicios sociales que empoderan a las personas, las familias y las comunidades. Nuestros programas incluyen: tratamiento ambulatorio y uso intensivo de sustancias para pacientes ambulatorios, tratamiento asistido por medicamentos, apoyo residencial y de vivienda de transición, y servicios de apoyo a la violencia doméstica.
