Healthcare Management Trust
The Healthcare Management Trust (HMT) is a registered charity delivering not for profit health and social care within England and Wales. The charity operates a number of independent planned surgical hospitals Sancta Maria Hospital in Swansea as well as St Hugh’s Hospital in Grimsby. The trust is the owner of a small group of care homes Marie Louise House located in Romsey and Coloma Court based in West Wickham for those with dementia and older people. In addition, supporting other charities within the social care sector who together operate a further 340 social care beds. Dementia is the biggest public health challenge that we face as a society and the increasing prevalence of the condition has huge social and financial implications for the UK. HMT is therefore currently funding research in partnership with a range of charities and academic institutions engaged in pure and applied research into issues around dementia. As part of our selection criteria, we seek to lever improvements in care and support for dementia sufferers and their family directly out of the research we fund.
