Iulian Balan has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Iulian began their career in 2010 with a student internship at Kline srl. In 2014, they worked as a Software Engineer at Hewlett-Packard, focusing on backend RESTful web service Java development and utilizing various tools such as Maven, Eclipse, Jenkins, Subversion, and Git. From 2015 to 2021, Iulian worked at Cognizant Softvision where they held multiple roles. Initially, they were a Java Developer responsible for developing new features, handling CI pipelines, and researching new libraries to enhance performance. In 2018, they became a Senior Java Software Engineer and a Community Lead, playing a pivotal role in building the Java community, fostering mentor-mentee relationships, and driving engagement and learning initiatives. Currently, since May 2021, Iulian is employed as a Senior Software Engineer at HEITS.digital.
Iulian Balan completed their education at the Università degli Studi di Brescia. From 2007 to 2010, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Following this, they pursued further studies and received a Master's degree in Computer Science from the same institution from 2010 to 2013. In terms of additional certifications, Iulian Balan obtained the Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer certification from Oracle in January 2017. Iulian also obtained the Agile Certificate from ASPE, a division of Fortis College, in October 2014.
