Ilona Shub has a diverse work experience spanning over 17 years. Ilona is currently the Chief of Democracy at Democratech Israel, a position they assumed in February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer at Simply (formerly JoyTunes) in 2022. From 2018 to 2022, they served as a Software Engineer Team Lead at Explorium. Before that, they worked as a Software Engineer at Homeis from 2017 to 2018 and at Klarna from 2014 to 2017.
Ilona also has experience in the field of military intelligence as a Software Engineer, Team Leader, and System Analyst at the Israel Defense Forces. Ilona played a key role in developing software applications for navigation and GIS purposes. In addition, Ilona worked as a Teaching Assistant at Ben Gurion University, where they taught the course on Computability and Algorithms.
Early in their career, Ilona worked as a C# Developer at Deutsche Telekom and Secured Dimensions, where they designed and built web applications using .Net and DotNetNuke technologies.
Ilona Shub completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Information System Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev from 2004 to 2008. Following that, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Business Management at Tel Aviv University from 2011 to 2013.
