Marii-Liisi Makara

Marii-Liisi Makara is a legal professional with extensive experience in data protection and legal counsel roles across various organizations. Currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel and Data Protection Officer at Helmes since September 2021, Marii-Liisi Makara previously held positions at fly Nordica and the Estonian Ministry of Justice, where responsibilities included data protection and legal advisory. Earlier career experience includes serving as a lawyer for Tallinn City Government and an international judicial cooperation advisor at the Estonian Ministry of Justice. Additionally, Marii-Liisi Makara has contributed to academia as a teaching assistant in labor law at the University of Tartu. Marii-Liisi Makara holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Tartu, alongside marketing roles at Max Mara Fashion Group and Polarn O. Pyret.
