In addition to this role, Mustafa has been a researcher at the Libyan Biotechnology Research Centre since April 2004. Mustafa's previous experience includes a position as a Laboratory Scientist at the UK Lighthouse Lab Network from May to October 2020. Mustafa holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in DNA Repair from The University of Salford, completed between 2014 and 2019, and a Master of Science (MS) in Molecular Science for Medicine from Bangor University, completed in 2010.
