Flow Cytometry Junior Scientist
The Junior Scientist in the Flow Cytometry Department contributes to patient testing, our quality programs, and translational and/or basic science research in the Flow Cytometry section. A strong work ethic along with an organized, innovative, and solution-oriented mindset is essential for completing this role. Effectively collaborating with directors, supervisors, scientists, and technicians/technologists is vital for this role.
The specific focus of the role will be on training and development in both wet and dry lab aspects of patient testing, as well as developing an understanding of operations and quality management of the Flow Cytometry department, from specimen accessioning to reporting. These will include specimen accessioning, panel selection, specimen processing, cell sorting, instrument operation/maintenance, clinical data analysis, and patient reporting. Following initial training, the Junior Scientist will be eligible to participate in clinical analysis upon completion of initial proficiency testing. In addition to clinical training, the Junior Scientist will participate in research projects, both internal R&D and for external publications. The distribution of responsibilities is determined by the Director. The general hours are 9 AM-5 PM but are flexible, and this is an onsite/in-person position. At times, hours may be dictated/altered due to job responsibilities, including non-business hours/weekends. Upon joining the Flow Cytometry clinical analysis team, participation in the weekend analysis rotation will be required.

Full-time physical presence at our Seattle laboratory is an essential job function of this role. This position requires you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
