Tyler Burleson is an experienced educator with a focus on U.S. History, currently serving as an AP U.S. History Teacher at Henderson Collegiate since January 2020. Prior roles include positions as a Long Term Substitute Teacher at Connecticut River Academy and East Hartford Middle School, as well as teaching during a student teaching tenure at Rham High School. Additionally, Tyler held the position of Nature Program Director at Hartford's Camp Courant. Prior to pursuing a career in education, Tyler accumulated experience in sales, serving as an Internet Sales Specialist at Suburban Subaru, and as a Sales Representative at Oakley, Alpine Haus, and Suburban Ski and Bike. Tyler holds a Master's degree in Education from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Bachelor's degree in History from Central Connecticut State University.

Open to all students in North Carolina, Henderson Collegiate is committed to providing an exceptional education to students who are historically under-served in our community. Henderson Collegiate’s mission is to empower our students to become better people, attend and graduate from the college of their choice, and change the world. Henderson Collegiate opened in the summer of 2010 with a 4th grade class of 100 students. Now, Henderson Collegiate is a full K-12 program that serves over 1,300 students across our elementary, middle and high school.
