JI CHEN is a seasoned professional with significant leadership experience in various sectors, including agriculture, finance, and energy. Currently serving as the Managing Director of Hendrix Genetics China since July 2022, JI CHEN successfully established the China Business Unit and expanded the team to over 100 members. Prior to this role, JI CHEN co-founded Wonderbean Coffee as Chief Financial Officer, focusing on financial planning for the startup. Experience also includes serving as Chief of Staff for the Pork Business Unit at NetEase, managing agricultural business operations and turnaround initiatives, and leading investment activities at Shanghai Pengxin Group. JI CHEN’s early career at McKinsey & Company involved management consulting in energy and agriculture, providing expertise from GMO applications to oil and gas sectors. JI CHEN holds a Master of Science degree in Photonics from Imperial College London.
