Steven Kalkanis M.D.

Steven Kalkanis MD currently serves as Chief Executive Officer at Henry Ford Hospital since March 2023 and has held various leadership positions at Henry Ford Health since January 2004, including Executive Vice President, CEO of Henry Ford Medical Group, and Medical Director of the Henry Ford Cancer Institute. Kalkanis has also served as Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery and Co-Director of the Neuroscience Institute. Prior to these roles, Kalkanis was Chief Academic Officer at Henry Ford Health System from March 2020 to March 2023 and President of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons from October 2019 to March 2023. Kalkanis gained experience in neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1997 to 2004. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School and a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Political Science and Government from Harvard University.
