William Forbes

William (Bill) Forbes currently serves as EVP & Chief Development Officer at Heron Therapeutics, Inc., since June 2023. Prior to this role, William held the position of Chief Development Officer at Trevi Therapeutics from February 2021 to September 2022 and worked as an Independent Consultant in the pharmaceutical industry from July 2020 to February 2021. William also served as President and CEO of Vivelix Pharmaceuticals from May 2016 to June 2020, following a tenure as President of Medical, R&D and Chief Development Officer at Salix Pharmaceuticals from January 2005 to June 2015. Earlier roles included positions at Metabasis Therapeutics, Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc., and GlaxoSmithKline. William earned a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from Creighton University and completed two post-doctoral fellowships in Cardiovascular and Respiratory fields.
