HERON
Stavros Giagiannos is a seasoned energy analyst with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as a Senior Energy Analyst at HERON since December 2022, focusing on the Day Ahead Energy Markets in Southeastern Europe. Prior to this role, Stavros worked at Terna Energy as an Energy Analyst from May 2018 to December 2022, where responsibilities included developing data analysis techniques to assess risks and opportunities in the Greek and neighboring energy markets. Stavros also held positions at LDK Consultants as an Engineering Consultant, Easy Facilities Management as a Facilities Management Consulting Engineer, and Aluminium of Greece as an Electrical Project Engineer Intern. Early career experiences include military service as an Analyst/Programmer at the Hellenic Army and various roles in technical support and tutoring. Stavros possesses advanced academic qualifications, including a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering, both from the National Technical University of Athens.

HERON
HERON is active in the generation, supply and trading of Electricity, as well as in the supply and trading of Natural Gas in Greece. Having started its operations in 2000, it is now supported by the GEK TERNA Group, the leader in Energy Production from conventional and renewable (RES) sources in Greece, who also founded HERON. HERON was the first private Group to operate in the Greek liberalized electricity market, as well as the first Private Group to operate in the Natural Gas market in Greece. HERON constructed and has successfully been operating the first private Natural Gas fired power plant in Greece since 2004 (HERON I). Since 2009, HERON also operates a combined cycle thermoelectric power plant in Thiva (HERON II), reaching a total installed capacity of 582 MW.
