Rui Furtado has extensive work experience in engineering and product development roles. From 2014 onwards, they served as the VP of Engineering - Product Development and R&T, as well as the VP of Engineering - Chief of Technology at Héroux-Devtek. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2013, they worked at Embraer as the Hydromechanical Systems Manager - Executive Aviation and as a Tech Leader. Rui also has experience as a Product Development Engineer at AGCO Corporation - Brasil from 1997 to 1998.
Rui Furtado began their education in 1989 at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where they pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering. This program lasted until 1994, at which point they completed their undergraduate studies. Following this, Rui furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Solid Mechanics - Mechanical Engineering at the same university. This program started in 1994 and concluded in 1996.
