Gregg Shapiro started their work experience in 1990 as a Retail Supervisor at BP, managing multiple convenience stores and gas stations. Gregg later became a Training Specialist, overseeing training programs for associates in seven states. In 1996, Shapiro joined AvalonBay Communities as a Senior Portfolio Director and later became a Portfolio Manager/Portfolio Director, supervising employees and managing apartment communities. In 2000, they joined GDC PROPERTIES, LLC as the Vice President of Property Management and later became the Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, responsible for financial reporting, acquisitions/dispositions, and strategic planning. Shapiro established their own business, SRE Advisors, LLC, in 2011. Gregg then worked at HFF as a Managing Director and at JLL as a Senior Managing Director, specializing in debt and equity placement. Currently, Shapiro is an Adjunct Instructor at Emory University - Goizueta Business School.
Gregg Shapiro completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance at Emory University's Goizueta Business School from 1986 to 1990. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management from 1994 to 1996.
