Ludvig Åstrand

Ludvig Åstrand is a Mechanical Development Engineer at Hiab since February 2024, after serving as a Process Engineer at Holmen Iggesund, where contributions focused on production improvements and project management. Prior roles include working as a Manufacturing Engineer at Saab, where assembly instructions for the T7 Red Hawk were developed, and as a Technical Consultant for ALTEN Sweden. Ludvig completed a Master’s thesis at Siemens Energy, analyzing automation in turbine blade manufacturing. Experience also includes a Design Engineer position at Eco Log, where CAD/PDM system integration and production improvements were primary tasks, and earlier roles included a Bachelor thesis on a 3D vision system at Mabema AB and a Maintenance Technician position at Rottneros AB. Ludvig holds a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Linköping University.
