Michele Bornstein

Michele Bornstein is an experienced nonprofit leader and consultant specializing in strategic business development and philanthropic advising. Currently serving as a Major Gifts Officer and Director of Institutional Development at HIAS, Michele also founded Michele Bornstein Consulting in April 2023, focusing on diverse issues such as disability justice and renewable energy. Previous roles include Director at CORE, where over $36 million was secured for programs in multiple countries, and various positions at CARE, including Grants Manager responsible for a significant $15M+ portfolio. Michele's background encompasses roles at Columbia SIPA, UNDP, the U.S. Department of State, and IsraAID, showcasing a strong commitment to human rights, international affairs, and impactful programming. Michele holds a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia SIPA and a Bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College.
