Highdive NYC

Highdive grows from the pieces designer Lila Habermann makes to wear in her everyday life. The first piece: a dress made to wear to her 31st birthday party, became a summer staple when she noticed it was as easy to wear on a bike as it was effortlessly ready for an impromptu dinner with friends. Designer Lila Habermann grew up in a family of artists in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Every Sunday, she would pour over Bill Cuningham’s street style photos in the New York Times Sunday Styles, studying the city-dwellers who made it look so good. Inspired by everyday New Yorkers, and humbled by the reality of becoming a New Yorker herself, Lila created Highdive: clothing for cities. Each Highdive piece has the goal of bridging the elusive space between the inspired, put-together New Yorker Lila always dreamed of becoming, and the reality that we are all commuting via subway in 90 degree heat, while carrying three bags and maybe a small chihuahua. Lila studied fashion at Parsons and cut her teeth in New York City’s garment district, where she spent the first 10 years of her career working for small brands and suppliers. She is proud to support the artisans living and working in New York City, where Highdive is designed and handmade.
