Tom graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Math and General Business and obtained his CPA certificate in the State of Texas in 1973. In 2017, Tom was appointed to the Board of Regents at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he currently serves as Board Secretary and Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee.
