Kanakanand S pursued a BE (Hons) degree in Production Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in Tiruchirappalli from 1985 to 1989. Later, in 1996 to 1997, Kanakanand S attended the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and completed the Management Programme for Technologists, resulting in a Master's degree in Management Programme for Technologists (MPT).
