Vibhav joined Unilever in 1997 as a Research Scientist and worked across various roles including the launch of Pureit. In 2003, he moved into the Skin Care Category to create several unbeatable formulations. Since then, he has held various global & regional roles in Unilever’s Skin Care and Skin Cleansing categories and has brought several new disruptive technologies into the market.
In his current global role, Vibhav leads the R&D strategy and mix development for iconic Unilever Skin Cleansing brands such as Dove, Dove Men+Care, Baby Dove, Lux, Lifebuoy, Pears, Hamam, Radox, Geisha, Zwitsal, Lever ayush, Love Beauty and Planet, and many more. He also leads the Category strategy for disruptive technologies and is responsible for contributing to the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan and Planet Positive agenda on plastic packaging, climate change, regenerate nature and zero carbon.
As Site Leader R&D India and R&D Director HUL, he is responsible for leading the Research & Development centres situated in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Gurugram and transforming the Future of R&D as well as the impact of R&D on the Business.
Vibhav is a member of Unilever’s Beauty & Personal Care R&D Leadership Team, the South Asia Leadership Team, and Unilever’s Skin Cleansing Global Category Leadership Team. He also represents Unilever at several organisations, universities and external conferences, and has several patents and publications to his name. He is also the Co-Chair of the Science and Technology Committee of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry).
A Microbiologist & Molecular Biologist, with gold-medals in B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Mumbai, Vibhav also holds a PhD from the Bhabha Atomic Research Center, under a fellowship from the Department of Atomic Energy.
