Jiayuan Ding is currently serving as a Staff Research Scientist at Hippocratic AI, focusing on large language models and retrieval augmented generation since October 2023. In addition, Jiayuan holds the position of Visiting Scholar at Stanford University from June 2023. Previously, Jiayuan worked as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at VMware, specializing in dialogue systems and intelligent chatbots from March 2019 to August 2023. Jiayuan has also contributed as a Research Assistant at Tsinghua University and Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute in 2020, and co-founded Chengdu Qiyan Technology, leading a team to develop AI chatbot systems that significantly reduced operational costs. Prior experience includes roles at the Information Sciences Institute and Remark Media, focusing on machine learning and social media analysis. Jiayuan holds a PhD in Computer Science from Michigan State University, a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, and has educational background from The University of Manchester.
