Debra Fowler has a diverse work experience starting in 1986 when they were a Specialist and Korean Linguist in the US Army. Debra then transitioned into teaching English as a foreign language at Me-Di-Sun English Academy from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they joined Lowell High School as an ELL Teacher, where they taught English to new immigrant and refugee students and developed and taught the school's first Gender and Identity course. In 2015, Debra became the Co-founder and Executive Director of History UnErased, Inc., focusing on promoting awareness of individuals who are ignored, marginalized, or excluded within the public school system.
Debra Fowler obtained a Master's Degree in Education from the School for International Training between 2002 and 2004. Debra also holds a Diploma in Korean Language from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center.

Intersections & Connections curriculum makes LGBTQ history a part of mainstream history, it is also allowing students to apply their own identity lens(es) as they approach their learning, whether it be race, gender, ethnicity, or nationality. This ensures dignity and equitable representation for all students in the story of "We the people." And our whole-school approach and sustainable model ensure educators are well-supported.
