Mitch Carp

Mitch Carp serves as the Executive Vice President of Risk Management at HMC Architects since June 2023, previously holding the position of Senior Vice President of Studio Operations at the same firm from November 1990 to January 2017. In the latter role, Mitch focused on collaboration with Managing Principals, Studio Leaders, and Senior Management to enhance project delivery efficiency and financial performance. Mitch has chaired and facilitated Risk Management efforts, overseeing contract negotiations and claims management. Prior experience includes working as an Entitlements Coordinator at Ruhnau McGavin Ruhnau Architects, where Mitch developed systems for assisting School District clients with funding processes, and as a Cost Analyst at General Dynamics, where project cost tracking and reporting were key responsibilities. Mitch holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona.
