Sean Barrett is a Partner and member of the Investment Committee at HMI Capital. Since joining HMI in early 2010, Sean has held leadership across all of the firm’s sectors and since 2012 has led HMI’s efforts in financial services (which includes payments and fintech). Sean currently serves on the nomination committee of Avanza Bank Holding AB and as a board observer of Tink AB (private).
Prior to joining the firm, Sean was an Associate and founding member of REGAL Capital Advisors, a boutique investment bank focused on M&A and capital raising initiatives. Prior to REGAL, Sean was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Credit Suisse, where he focused on Sponsors and Leveraged Finance transactions.
Sean earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in Finance and Legal Studies. While there, he also served as Captain of the varsity golf team. Originally from Los Angeles, Sean now lives in San Francisco with his wife, Natalie, and daughter, Annabel.
