Phyllis Zagano is an accomplished academic and journalist with extensive experience in religious commentary and education. Currently serving as Senior Research Associate in Residence and Senior Research Associate and Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University since 2002, Zagano has also contributed as a columnist for the National Catholic Reporter and Religion News Service from 2006 to 2023. A former Commander in the US Navy Reserve from 1976 to 2007, Zagano holds a Master's degree from St. John's University and a Ph.D. from Stony Brook University.
