Michael Baird has over 30 years of work experience in the field of scientific research and diagnostics. Michael served as the Chief Scientific Officer at DNA Diagnostics Center starting in September 2002. Prior to that, they held the role of Executive VP at Lifecodes Corporation from June 1982 to June 2002.
Michael Baird has a strong education background in genetics and molecular genetics. Michael obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from Drew University in 1971. Following that, they attended State University of New York from 1971 to 1973 to earn a Master's degree in Genetics. Michael then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Genetics from the University of Chicago from 1973 to 1978. After completing their PhD, Baird gained further research experience through a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Human/Medical Genetics at the University of Michigan from 1978 to 1979. Finally, they went on to complete another Post Doctoral Fellowship in Molecular Genetics at Columbia University from 1979 to 1982.
