Jim Dowling

Co-Founder & CEO at Hopsworks

Jim Dowling has a diverse work experience. Jim is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Hopsworks since January 2018. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate Professor at KTH | Kungliga Tekniska högskolan since November 2011. Jim also served as a Researcher at SICS, Stockholm in Swedish Institute of Computer Science starting from January 2007. Before that, they worked as a Senior Consultant at MySQL from November 2005 to February 2007. Jim started their career as a Lecturer at Trinity College Dublin in September 2001 and worked there until September 2005.

Jim Dowling received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin in the years 1992 to 1996. Subsequently, they pursued further education at Trinity College Dublin, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science in the years leading up to 2004. Later, Jim obtained a Docent/Habilitation degree in Computer Science from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, which concluded in 2013.
