Derek Bowman

Derek Bowman is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in the braking systems domain. Currently serving as a Senior Engineer at HORIBA MIRA since November 2022, Derek has a rich history that includes roles such as Test & Validation Engineer at Tata Technologies and Senior Test Engineer at MIRA Ltd. Derek has managed customer and internal projects related to mechanical engineering, specializing in braking system development. Prior positions include Project Engineer roles at Meritor Cwmbran and Jaguar Land Rover, where Derek focused on brake development and product investigation. Derek began their career as a Torque Control Specialist at Daimler Chrysler South Africa and served as Technical Director at Wabco Automotive South Africa, overseeing teams related to air braking systems. Derek holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University and has additional education from Wits Business School and Whitburn Academy.
