Roxane van Acker

Roxane van Acker has extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Since February 2015, Roxane serves as the Director at Bibliotheek Zuid Kennemerland, overseeing 13 libraries in the Haarlem area. In addition, Roxane has held positions such as Chair of the Supervisory Board at Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam since January 2022 and previously at Dierenambulance Amsterdam until May 2022. Roxane was the Regional Manager for Amsterdam at Reclassering Nederland from February 2008 to December 2013, leading a team of 180 staff members and managing the national portfolio for community service sentences. Prior experience includes a managerial role at the Immigration and Naturalisation Service, focusing on immigration policy and a project addressing gender-related cases, as well as senior positions at KPN where Roxane was part of the Operations management team. Roxane holds a master’s degree in law from Utrecht University.

Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam

Botanic garden, founded in 1638 (which Linkedin does not accept as possible founding year, probably we're too old for the digital age..). The Hortus houses more than 4,000 different species of plants, which is about 2% of all plant species growing on Earth. The Hortus closely cooperates with other botanic gardens, both nationally as internationally.
