Marilyn was the former Chief of Chemistry and Drug Metabolism at the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Intramural Research Program (IRP) where she conducted controlled drug administration studies. Marilyn served on the National Commission on Forensic Sciences, was president of the Society of Forensic Toxicologists, Chair of the Toxicology Section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and president of The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists. Marilyn received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Mount Holyoke College, a master's in clinical chemistry with honors from the University of New Mexico, and a Ph.D. in Toxicology with honors from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
