Shawn Murphy is an experienced professional in political and governmental relations, currently serving as Chief of Staff in the Office of Alexandra Mendes, M.P., at the House of Commons of Canada since October 2011. In this role, Shawn oversees staff management, budget planning, and policy advice, while also providing strategic direction and communications material. Previous positions include Country Director at the British Embassy in Côte d'Ivoire, focusing on trade agreements and international investment from January 2018 to June 2020, and Manager of Government Relations at the Canadian Co-operative Association, where efforts were directed towards building sustainable livelihoods in developing countries. Shawn's background also includes work as a Senior Analyst in Parliamentary Affairs at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and as a Legislative & Constituency Analyst for the Parliament of Canada. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Laurentian University.
