Dr. Astraea Coleman

Dr. Astraea Coleman serves as the Director of National School Support for the SELF - Special Education Leader Fellowship since July 2022. With extensive experience in special education, Dr. Coleman previously held the position of Director of Special Populations in Memphis, TN, from 2021 to January 2023, and was the Founding Director/Manager of Special Populations at Tennessee Connections Academy between 2019 and 2021. Prior roles include Exceptional Children Advisor at Shelby County Schools and Regional Director of Student Support at Scholar Academies. Dr. Coleman's early career included significant contributions as a Special Educator and Inclusion Teacher. Dr. Coleman holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University, along with additional degrees in Educational Leadership and Administration, Elementary Education, and Health.
