Justin Smith

Justin Smith is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Executive Director of Assessment, Accountability, and Compliance at Houston ISD since November 2024. Previously, Justin held the position of Managing Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment at YES Prep Public Schools, where a comprehensive recruitment strategy led to a 41.9% increase in student applications for the 2024-25 school year. Additional roles include Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment at IDEA Public Schools and Director of Operations at Baton Rouge College Preparatory Charter School. Prior to these positions, Justin gained experience as an Assistant Team Lead at Whole Foods Market. Education credentials include a Master’s degree in Public Education Management from the Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Louisiana State University.
