Gudrun Ihrke

Gudrun Ihrke serves as the Manager of Project Technical Resources at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, a position held since November 2012, where responsibilities include overseeing a team that provides technical support for projects within the Janelia research community. Prior to this role, Gudrun Ihrke was a Research Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences from 2006 to 2012, focusing on the regulation of signal transduction and apical membrane traffic. Additional experience includes serving as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge between 1996 and 2005, investigating lysosomal trafficking and sorting signals, and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1991 to 1996, where Gudrun Ihrke established WIF-B cells as an in vitro model for polarized hepatocytes. Gudrun Ihrke holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Hamburg.
