Kevin McGowan

Kevin McGowan is a distinguished Senior Scientist and Shared Resource Manager at Howard Hughes Medical Institute since June 2006 and has served as the Shared Resource Director for Cell and Molecular Biology at HHMI Janelia Farm Research Campus since September 2012. With a diverse background in high-risk, high-reward research environments, McGowan leverages expertise across various scientific disciplines to drive innovation and discovery at Janelia Farm. Prior to this role, McGowan worked as a Scientist at ExonHit from 2000 to 2005 and was a staff member at Areté Associates from 1998 to 1999. McGowan's academic credentials include a postdoctoral degree in molecular biology and dermatology from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from East Carolina University, and a combined BS/MS in Physics and Biophysics from Clarkson University.
