Jean-Francois Cote is an experienced finance professional with a robust background in debt management, financial risk management, and institutional sales. Currently serving as the Manager of Financing, Debt Management, and Financial Risk Management at Hydro Québec since September 2008, Jean-Francois is responsible for managing debt financing activities, overseeing debt portfolios, and trading interest rate, currency, and commodity exposures. Prior roles include Vice President at JP Morgan, where Jean-Francois headed institutional sales for the Montreal office, and positions at Société Générale focusing on institutional sales of various financial instruments. It essentially exploits renewable energies, more particularly hydroelectricity. It also does research in energy-related fields and is actively interested in energy efficiency. In addition, it develops the technologies resulting from its research.
