Ben Helps has held various roles in the corporate world since 1996. Ben began their career as a Consultant at Oliver Wyman, then became a Partner at the same firm. In 2017, they joined the Advisory Board of The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network. From 2016 to 2021, Helps served as the CEO and Interim CEO of Factern, where they won mandates to develop 'proof of concept' solutions drawing on a shared metadata layer and collaborated with others to publish intellectual capital and focus public debate. Ben also supervised the development of Factern's technology stack and API. Currently, they are the Chief Data Officer at HyperJar.

Ben Helps studied at Uppingham from 1986 to 1991, where they studied Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics. Ben then attended the University of Oxford from 1992 to 1996, earning a degree in Literae Humaniores, with a focus on Latin and Greek languages, Ancient Ben'story, and Philosophy.
