Christian Reimer has had a varied work experience. Christian started as a Master Student at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) / University of Karlsruhe (TH) in 2006. In 2009, they became a Master Student at Heriot-Watt University. In 2010, they undertook an internship at Draeger. In 2011, they were a Visiting Researcher at the University of St Andrews and the University of Sydney. In 2012, they became a Doctoral Student at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS). In 2018, they became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard University. In 2015, they became an Advisor and Co-Founder and Technical Lead at Ki3 Photonics Technologies Inc. Finally, in 2019, they became Co-Founder and Head of Product at HyperLight Corporation.

Christian Reimer completed their Paramedic certification from Arbeiter Samariter Bund (ASB) in 2002. In 2006, they earned a Master's Degree in Physics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). In 2009, they earned another Master's Degree in Physics from Heriot-Watt University. Finally, in 2017, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Université du Québec - Institut national de la recherche scientifique.
