Jonathan Brown has a diverse work experience in the sustainable transport and energy systems sector. Jonathan is currently the Strategy Director at Hypermotive, where they focus on the development of organizational strategy for targeted growth in hydrogen, battery electric, and electrified architecture for propulsion and power systems. Before this, Jonathan was exploring options as they were open to work and actively seeking opportunities that contribute to the future of sustainable transport systems.

Prior to their current role, Jonathan held several positions at Ricardo plc. Jonathan served as the Global Decarbonisation and Sustainability Lead, where they identified future needs and requirements of the public transport industry to align with global sustainability and decarbonisation targets. Jonathan coordinated expertise from the Ricardo Group to provide unique offerings supporting the move towards a more sustainable transport system. Jonathan also served as the Technical and Innovation Engagement Lead, engaging with technical and innovation organizations in the rail sector to develop innovative solutions for the industry. Before that, they were a Business Development Manager and Chief Engineer at Ricardo Rail, bringing their expertise in design, engineering, and large engines. Jonathan started their career as a Principal Engineer, specializing in analysis and simulation.

Jonathan Brown attended the University of Birmingham from 1993 to 1996, where they obtained a BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2013, they were also awarded the Sieff Award by Business in the Community.
