Tom Campey has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Tom is currently serving as the Chief Commercial Officer at Hysata since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked as an Independent Consultant from March 2020. Tom also has experience at the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) where they held the position of General Manager, Strategy from March 2017 to December 2019. Before their time at ARENA, they worked at CSIRO as a Project Lead for the Low Emissions Technology Roadmap from May 2016 to February 2017. Tom's career began at McKinsey & Company, where they served as an Engagement Manager from February 2011 to May 2016.
Tom Campey completed their Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Space, Hons I)/Bachelor of Science (Physics) degree at The University of Queensland from 1996 to 2001. Tom then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics at the same university from 2006 to 2009.

Hysata is working on creating a new type of hydrogen electrolyzer. It is based on ground-breaking Australian technology developed by ateam led by chemical catalysis and characterisation expert Professor Gerry Swiegers from the University of Wollongong's ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science. By delivering the world's best electrolyzer, the company hopes to accelerate the world's transition from fossil fuels to green hydrogen.
