Paulo Barthelmess is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in data collection solutions and innovative interface design. Currently serving as Principal at both Hyssos Tech LLC and Field Data Integrators LLC, Paulo focuses on efficient, natural input technologies for military and emergency services, as well as mobile data collection solutions for field users. Previously, Paulo held the position of VP of Solutions Engineering at Adapx, where responsibilities included developing mobile data collection technologies utilizing natural language processing. Additional experience includes roles as Senior Research Engineer at Adapx and Senior Research Associate at Oregon Graduate Institute, contributing to software development and research in human communication technologies. Paulo Barthelmess holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder, along with an M.Sc. from Universidade Estadual de Campinas and a Tecnologo degree from Universidade Federal do Paraná.

Hyssos Tech LLC™, a natural language company, creates intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, providing quick access and manipulation of data for warfighter mission planning. Our tech, Sketch-Thru-Plan, leverages spoken word and human gestures to open the door to advanced predictive technology that can anticipate user needs and intentions, making it easier to complete tasks efficiently and even drive complex simulations or control remote autonomous systems. We advance the science of computer-human interaction that provides an innovative user experience to short circuit many of the current challenges for today's warfighter. We build: -AI solutions, including Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision and Computational Linguistic techniques to extract meaning from combined human sketches and speech. We offer: -SDKs for Automating and Extending STP -Services to integrate STP into third party systems -A standalone STP planning workstation As the advancement of AI accelerates, the bottleneck will increasingly be the ability for humans to tap into these powerful capabilities using natural and accessible human-machine interfaces that avoid cognitive disruptions due to tool complexity. Our goal is to provide warfighters Cognitive Superiority by seamlessly extracting meaning from natural human sketches and speech, giving them means to generate better plans faster through AI and simulation, thereby compressing the OODA loop, allowing them to plan and execute faster than their adversary.
