Bill Chinery, FSA, FCIA, ICD.D, currently serves as the Director at iA Financial Group since May 2021 and as Chair of the City of Toronto Firefighter’s Pension plan since November 2020. Previously, Bill held significant roles such as Board Member and Chair of the Investment Committee at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (2015-2022), Chair of the Independent Review Committee at SLC Management (2014-2021), and Chair of the Investment Committee at The Salvation Army in Canada (2011-2017). Bill's extensive experience in the investment industry includes a long tenure at BlackRock, where Bill served as CEO of BlackRock Canada and held several managerial positions in the Americas Institutional Business from 2001 to 2013. Earlier career highlights include serving as Senior Vice President at YMG Capital Management and Managing Director at Mercer Investment Consulting. Bill earned a Bachelor of Mathematics in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo.
