Derek A. Laffan

Derek A. Laffan is an experienced educator and researcher currently enrolled in the DECPsy Doctorate in Educational and Child Psychology program at Mary Immaculate College, Ireland, since September 2023. As an Associate Lecturer at Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology since January 2018, Derek teaches gaming and multimedia entertainment psychology within the MSc. Cyberpsychology program. Previous roles include researcher at the Anti-Bullying Centre focusing on anti-cyberbullying and online safety initiatives, and psychology instructor at the Centre for Talented Youth Ireland. Derek has contributed to various organizations, including serving as Advocacy Officer for the Psychological Society of Ireland and supporting individuals through AWARE's computerized CBT program.
