Vanessa Gildea

Vanessa Gildea is a prominent lecturer and industry professional in film and television, currently serving as a Lecturer in Film and Television and Head of the Department of Film and Media at Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology since September 2013. Gildea has extensive production experience, including roles as Executive Producer for the documentary 'Songlines' and Producer for various projects such as 'Songs of the Open Road' and 'The 34th,' the latter winning multiple awards. Gildea is also credited as a Writer/Director/Producer for the short film 'The Lunch,' which received the SDGi ARRI ALEXA TAKE Award. Other notable contributions include positions at COCO Content and RTÉ, where Gildea produced arts and culture programs and events, enhancing the presence of Irish storytelling through documentary and television production. Gildea holds a Bachelor's degree in Film, Media, TV, and English from the University of Limerick, along with a Master's in Screenwriting for Film and Television from Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology.
