Alex Pottinger is an ESG Consultant at IBIS Consulting, with experience in Environmental Social Governance due diligence across various countries including South Africa, Mozambique, and Nigeria since September 2022. Prior to this role, Alex served as a Research Assistant at the University of Cape Town, contributing to sedimentology, seismic hazard analysis, and geophysics projects from January to August 2022, as well as participating in a structural geology project focused on thermal erosion and the uplift of the Southern African plateau from November 2020 to March 2021. Alex also has experience as a part-time Retail Salesperson at Book Junction and as an Administrative Assistant at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where involvement in the World Bank project MS4SSA included coordinating an international conference and preparing educational materials for Sub-Saharan Africa. Alex is currently pursuing an MSc in Global Environment and Sustainability at the University of London, following a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Cape Town.
