Walker Freer

Walker Freer is a Senior Transportation Planner at ICF, with experience in regional, state, and federal transportation planning. Currently involved in developing the New York State Transportation Master Plan, Walker has previously held positions as a Transportation Planner for Montgomery County Planning Department, where sustainable and transit-oriented developments were designed and implemented. At Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, significant contributions were made to transit development plans and multimodal connectivity. Additional roles include internships at Renaissance Planning Group and Coalition for Smarter Growth, as well as research assistance at James Bell Associates and reporting for The Washington Post. Walker Freer holds a Master of City and Regional Planning with a focus on Transportation Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's degree in History and Media Studies from the University of Virginia.
