Kiran Shakya

Kiran Shakya is an experienced professional in Geographic Information Technology (GIT) with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as Group Lead for Application Development and GIT at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Kiran has played a key role in the SERVIR project, collaborating with NASA and USAID to enhance GIT infrastructure and developing a CRM database for USAID. Previously, at the Survey & Land Registration Bureau, Kiran was a Senior GIS Specialist, leading GIS tasks and standardizing workflow and datasets. Kiran's earlier experience includes working as a GIS Programmer at ICIMOD, where a regional spatial data sharing network for HKH member countries was established. Kiran holds an MSc in Photogrammetry and GeoInformatics from Stuttgart University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Kathmandu University.
