Ying-Chih Deng-Sommer, Ph.D., serves as a Senior Officer for the Built Environment at ICLEI since February 2020. Previously held positions include City Advisor for Circular Economy in Chiayi City, Guest Associate Professor in Sustainable Design at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and Senior Research Fellow in Sustainable Urban Planning & Design at Technische Universität Berlin. Additionally, Ying-Chih Deng-Sommer has worked as an External Consultant for Sustainable Urban Design at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, an Architect focusing on Eco-Friendly Materials at Antarchitecture, and a Financial Analyst in Climate Financing at HSBC. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Engineering in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from Technische Universität Berlin, a Diploma in Architecture from the Architectural Association, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from National Taiwan University.
