Keil Decker leads the SPAC and special situations client support team in the ICR consumer practice. Keil brings more than 20 years of experience providing strategic financial, transaction, crisis communications and investor relations counsel to senior management teams. SPAC engagements have included DraftKings, Playboy, AppHarvest, Danimer Scientific, CarLotz among numerous others.
Prior to joining ICR, Keil was Director of Marketing and Communications at BlackRock where he drove messaging, communications and marketing for platforms, channel and distribution partnerships. Before BlackRock, Keil was Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) from IPO through the acquisition by CME Group, and Vice President at Madison Square Garden for the spin off from Cablevision.
Previously, Keil provided strategic communications counsel in proxy contests, transactions, bankruptcies, executive changes, earnings shortfalls and crises while at strategic communications firms Sard Verbinnen and Sloane & Company, where he provided communications counsel to private equity and asset management firms, including Forstmann Little, Lightyear Capital, Monomoy Capital Partners, AIG Financial Products and Drum Capital Management.
Over the course of his career, Keil has helped a range of companies manage through challenging corporate events, including Willamette Industries, AIG Financial Products, XO Communications, Citadel Broadcasting, Yankee Candle, E*Trade, Delta & Pine Land Company, Community Health Systems, Capella Education and McLeodUSA. Keil began his career at Morgen-Walke Associates, where he provided investor relations counsel to a range of small to mid-sized companies.
Keil is a graduate of Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in History. He holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation through the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
