Rodrigo Tobar Carrizo

Rodrigo Tobar Carrizo is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in astronomical research and software development. Currently employed at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research since May 2015, Rodrigo previously contributed to the European Southern Observatory from November 2009 to April 2015, focusing on the Data Flow Infrastructure. Rodrigo's career began at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, where a strong foundation in Computer Science was established through various teaching and research roles, as well as sysadmin responsibilities. Additional notable roles include technical leadership in the ALMA-UTFSM Group and participation in summer internships at the European Southern Observatory, working with advanced technologies and systems. Rodrigo holds both a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María.

The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) is a collaborative centre based in Perth, Western Australia. Already achieving research excellence in astronomical science and engineering, ICRAR has grown steadily since its launch in September 2009. An equal joint venture between Curtin University and The University of Western Australia, with funding from the West Australian State Government (Office of Science), ICRAR has strong support from the Australian government and is working closely with research and industry partners throughout Australia and the world.
